The use of artificial intelligence (AI) in medical and imaging sciences has skyrocketed - for clinical practice and research alike. The wide and promising spectrum also includes its utility in musculoskeletal ultrasonography (US) which is already well incorporated into physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R). Although several new implications are being introduced, they are still in their infancy within neural networks as well as human intelligence.
Dr. Özçakar will explore the basic definitions for AI, a summary of relevant literature on AI & US, and a few novel projects that are in the works. Metaphorically, the contribution of the sous chef (AI and/ or US) and the role of the master chef (clinician) will be highlighted in the kitchen of physiatry.
