Pediatric pain is an increasing population with a specialized need for physiatry treatment. In this presentation, we will discuss pain in the pediatric setting that intersect with various patient populations encountered in pediatric rehabilitation. This includes TBI, SCI, Musculoskeletal pain, Amplified pain syndromes, functional neurological disorder (FND), and pain in children with childhood onset disability such as cerebral palsy. By reviewing the causes, treatment modalities, and rehabilitative outcomes, we can help enhance our role as physiatrists in pediatric pain and improve outcomes for these patients.
