Dianna H. Nguyen is a 5th year DO/PhD student at UNT Health Science Center – Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth, TX. She is currently in the PhD portion of her dual degree program. Her project involves elucidating mechanisms underlying sex differences seen in how the brain controls fluid balance in disease states such as heart and liver failure. Dianna’s professional aspiration is to become a physician-scientist particularly in the areas of rehabilitation research (e.g., neuroscience, cardiovascular, cancer, etc.). She plans to go into academic medicine where she can incorporate teaching/mentoring and research into her future practice. Dianna continues to be fascinated by the PM&R specialty, and her love for the field continues to grow as she learns more about the various physiatry subspecialties. Her current interests include Brain Injury Medicine, Spinal Cord Injury Medicine, and Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine.
