Dr. Scott Barbuto, MD PhD, is currently an assistant professor at Columbia University Medical Center. He graduated from the Tri-Institutional MD PhD program in 2014 with a medical degree from Weill Cornell Medical College and a PhD from Rockefeller University. He completed residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at New York Presbyterian Hospital, affiliated with Cornell and Columbia University. Upon completion of a 1-year Neuro-Rehabilitation fellowship specializing in the care of individuals with neuromuscular and movement disorders, he accepted a position of assistant professor at Columbia University Medical Center in 2019. He currently conducts research on the effects of exercise on Spinocerebellar Ataxias.
