Daniel C. Herman MD, PhD is an Associate Professor and Director of PMR Sports Medicine Research in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of California at Davis. Dr. Herman's clinical expertise is in Sports Medicine, with particular expertise in injury prevention, concussions, and ultrasound-guided procedures. Dr. Herman also maintains a grant funded research program with research activities exploring the relationships of concussion and baseline neurocognitive performance with sports biomechanics and injury risk; the effect of headgear on concussion risk and head impact biomechanics in girls' lacrosse; and the effect of ultrasound versus fluoroscopy on the efficacy of knee genicular nerve radiofrequency ablations. He has been recognized for his research and teaching efforts on multiple occasions, including the AAP's Early Career Academician Award.
