Paria Arfa Fatollahkhani, M.D., M.Sc. is a postdoctoral fellow at the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation department of Johns Hopkins University. During her medical doctorate program in Iran University of Medical Sciences (2009-2017), she developed her research and clinical skills in the field of Neuroscience, with a focus on the neurological diseases and neurorehabilitation techniques. After 2 years of medical practice as an Emergency physician, she came to US in Aug 2019. She earned a Master of Science degree in Biomechanics and Movement Science from the University of Delaware in Dec 2021. During her master's studies and graduate research assistant experience, she enhanced her knowledge and skills on neural and mechanical features of the muscle functioning and reflexes, via using innovative methods of robotic rehabilitation, brain stimulation and biosignal recording and analysis including the electromyography method. Currently, as a postdoctoral fellow at Motor Recovery Research Lab located in the Johns Hopkins hospital, she is focusing on enhancing post-stroke motor recovery and muscle functioning via novel neurorehabilitation methods and treatments.
