Cathy Carver PT, ATP/SMS is physical therapist who has been evaluating, fitting and training primarily adults with all levels of disabilities for seating and mobility equipment for the last 14 years of her 21 year practice at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She is a reviewer for Alabama Medicaid doing reviews for medical necessity for clients requesting funding for pediatric or adult custom wheelchairs and providing clinical input to Alabama Medicaid regarding DME. She is on the Executive Board of the Clinician Task Force (CTF) and has lead the team of therapists with the CTF to develop educational material to train medical professionals on how to do required documentation to provide appropriate mobility equipment within Medicare’s Policies.
