Alissa Totman, MD, MPH is a Brain Injury Physiatrist at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital and Instructor in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Harvard Medical School. She received her MD from the Stanford School of Medicine, completed her residency in PM&R at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, and completed her fellowship in Brain Injury Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center prior to joining the faculty as a consult physiatrist at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Her clinical interests include optimizing functional outcomes through early multidisciplinary rehabilitation in the acute care setting following brain injury. She is also invested in educating the next generation of leaders in Brain Injury by creating programs for undergraduates through an organization she leads called Synapse, and the annual Future Leaders in Brain Injury Conference.
