Residency Program Coordinator
Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital
My name is Sarah Thompson and I am the PM&R Residency Program Coordinator for Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
I have been with Mary Free Bed for just short of two years but have spent the last 10 years of my career in a Program Coordinator role for GME in Michigan. Before finding my calling in this PM&R Residency and prior to becoming involved in GME, I worked in a mirad of roles throughout healthcare including Health Information, Hospital Admissions, Emergency Medicine, Peripheral Vascular Medicine, Internal Medicine, and Family Medicine.
Along with the traditional role as Program Coordinator, within my role as Program Coordinator for the Mary Free Bed PM&R team, I am afforded the opportunity to take on a leadership and mentorship role in our Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belong (DEIB), Cancer Rehab Education & Wellness (CREW), and Resident Wellness initatives which are all personal and professional passion projects for me.
My time with this residency and the whole Mary Free Bed team has solified my love and passion for all things DEIB, Cancer Rehab, resident wellness, resident education, and PM&R.
