Dr. Tenforde is an assistant professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Harvard Medical School, a sports medicine physician at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and Director of Running Medicine at Spaulding National Running Center; one of the only centers in the United States exclusively dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of running-related injuries. Dr. Tenforde has the unique perspective of being both a doctor and a former professional runner who was All-American at Stanford University where he contributed to three NCAA National Team Championships and later qualified for the Olympic trials. Dr. Tenforde’ s research is focused on the evaluation of biological and biomechanical risk factors for stress fractures and other running injuries, as well as investigating the prevention of injuries in athletes. He frequently lectures on sports injury and prevention, and when he’s not working, you’ll find him training for the Boston Marathon.
