This session will be a discussion about the recent history of fraud, waste and abuse in electrodiagnostics leading up to the drastic cuts in re-imbursement; efforts by the AANEM to improve electrodiagnostic standardization and quality by offering lab accreditation with a description of the lab accreditation process; and discussion of the benefits and perspectives of accreditation from physiatrist in private practice, VA academic system of care, and university academic system of care, including developing quality improvement, teaching, and leadership opportunities.
