This talk is curated for Medical Student Advisors to inform them of the changes to the ERAS application over the past several years. We will explore the impact of Program Signaling, Geographical Preference, Supplemental Application (i.e. Meaningful Experiences), and transition of the step 1 score to pass/fail on the Holistic Review employed by most programs. We also give recommendations on a “roadmap” for the year-long journey for the students from the start of their MS3 year to Match Day. The basis of the session will be from information gathered from surveys from NRMP / ERAS and our own surveys that we will conduct with program directors preceding the session. The session will be partially a didactic session but adjourn to an interactive group discussion involving review of sample applications, student scenarios, etc.
