Dr. McCasey Smith is an Associate Professor at the University of Kansas Medical Center. He specializes in musculoskeletal and spine disorders, and serves on the Marc A. Asher spine governance committee.
Dr. Smith completed a dual degree, MD and MSc, at Saba University School of Medicine, and then proceeded to an internal medicine internship at the University of Missouri - Kansas City. He then trained in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. Upon graduation, he pursued an interventional spine fellowship at the University of Kansas Medical Center, where he was then invited to stay on as faculty.
Dr. Smith currently serve as residency program director for the department of Physical Medicine and Rehabiliation, where he has received two awards from the department for Clinical Teacher of the Year. He has been active on national committees within the field of physiatry, and he has been invited to lecture at national and international meetings.
